When I was twelve, my uncle took me roller skating near the beach and took my picture. Yes, I said roller skating not roller blading, that came later! When we got back he went into his make shift darkroom in his tiny bathroom and developed the film. He made a print and told me to keep an eye on the blank piece of photographic paper floating around in the bathtub. Like magic I started to see my image. I watched it get clearer and clearer until I could see me with my cool roller skates! I was hooked from that moment on. How amazing and magical that I can use a camera to capture life's moments. Through photography we get to relive those moments again and again. I have had a long history with photography with my first job at a one hour photo, then moving on to work at The Press Enterprise as a lab technician. I like all aspects of photography from shooting, to developing, to printing. Except now with the beauty of digital I can take those skills and use them in Photoshop to create the look I want.
To put it simply, I love photography! I can't imagine doing anything else in life. I have been at it now professionally for over 15 years and it just gets better and better. I love to follow my clients through their lives in pictures. It usually starts with their senior pictures, then their wedding, then my favorite, their newborn baby. How lucky I am to be able to witness these precious memories.
I hope I get the chance to meet you and be a part of your special moments.
